My Valentine’s Day outfit was made up of a pink tank top I threw on (I think it was clean, it passed the sniff test and didn’t appear to have smushed babyfood on it), a ripped pair of light wash jeans, and a gray cropped zip sweater with silver ballet flats. With about enough time to get my makeup on as it takes Doc McStuffins to come up with a diagnosis…I added a little pink to my daily makeup routine.

This Valentine’s Day we decided to make it a family day. If today is about love then we wanted to make sure Blake was the center of it. If he could talk…more so than the several words he can say at ten and a half months old…I think he would tell you that he had a fun day. So what does Valentine’s Day for three look like? We went to brunch and sat outside. We chose the table with the most sunshine which was also the table next to the 90lb senior pup who so sweetly got to join her family for Valentine’s Day brunch. Blake had eggs, veggies, fruit and hash browns.
We took naps. We cuddled.
We laughed. We played with golf balls. We took pictures. We did some shopping. We watched Mickey Mouse. We let him get messy at dinner, complete with him rubbing beets on his head (so glad that came off after a good shampooing!). He had extra bubbles in his bubble bath. We let him stay up past his bed time (this is huge since he is very routine! Routine! Routine!) Now, my little nursling is sound asleep in my arms as I type. Our day may not have been filled with a dozen roses, a fancy dinner or expensive gifts…but I do think this baby boy knows he is loved. Whether you had a Valentine’s Day for one or two or five or eight…I hope you let everyone in your life that you love know just how special and loved they really are.
