It’s really rainy out today so it’s a perfect night for my favorite Turkey Tater Tot Casserole. Blake loves this one too!
This is an easy one that I’ve been making for over ten years now. I personally prefer to make it with ground turkey rather than ground beef just because it’s much leaner and healthier. Feel free to mix it up and use ground beef if you would like.
This is a great recipe to make ahead and freeze, bring to a Mom who just had a baby and it’s even a great one to bring to those work potluck lunches.
Preheat the oven to 425
1.25lb ground turkey (or whatever size they sell at your grocery store)
1 can French Cut Green Beans
1 bag Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
1 bag frozen Tater Tots or Crispy Crowns
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 small sweet onion (diced)
1 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Heat a large frying pan on Medium and add the olive oil. Toss in the minced garlic and diced onion (you can skip these if you’re not an onion or garlic fan). Brown the onion and garlic half way and add in the ground turkey. Brown the ground turkey completely and add salt & pepper to taste. Do not drain.
Turn the heat off.
Add the can of Cream of Mushroom and drained green beans to the meat and mix throughly.
Pour the mixture into your favorite baking dish or casserole dish.
Top the mixture with the entire bag of frozen Tater Tots.
Sprinkle the entire bag of shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese on top of the Tater Tots.
Bake for 30 minutes
If you end up making it, let me know how you liked it.
